    About Andwise

    We publish free decision tools, open reference data and an educational library for physicians. The tools run in your browser, so what you enter stays on your device.

    What Andwise is today

    We publish three things, all free, with no account to create and no tracking cookies:

    • The tools run in your browser. A contract PDF you open and the numbers you enter are not sent to us or anyone else. Some inputs can be remembered on your device to save retyping; the privacy page lists which ones and how to clear them.
    • The reference data covers state physician non-compete law, federal loan rules, residency stipends and benchmarks. We publish it under CC BY 4.0, and each entry cites its primary source and shows when someone last read that source. How we check it.
    • The library keeps more than 100 articles, guides and recordings that Andwise wrote with physicians, attorneys and financial planners. Each keeps its original publication date, and a dated notice marks any rule that has changed since.

    No lender, insurer, financial advisor, recruiter or advertiser pays Andwise, and it earns no referral fees: each would give someone a reason to shade an answer. A residency program, medical school or specialty society can pay to show its name on the embedded widgets; that buys the name, and the tools' text and data stay the same for everyone.

    The tools show what a document or a rule says and suggest questions to ask. That is not legal, tax or financial advice: answering those questions takes a licensed professional who knows your situation.

    Origins and history

    Kanav Jain and Dr. Varun Verma founded Andwise in 2022 as a membership platform. Members had educational webinars and financial planning sessions, and anyone could read its physician contract guide. Its medical advisory board grew to 56 clinicians at its peak.

    In 2024, Andwise closed its membership and stopped storing user files in the cloud. In October 2026 we rebuilt the site as browser-based tools and public datasets, with the earlier articles kept as an archive.

    Kanav Jain maintains the site today: the tools, the reference data and the weekly source checks. Themedical advisory board and every author named above shaped what Andwise became, and each page that carries their work credits them.
